In short – none are Davis Estates. It seems too simple – any winery says the same about themselves. However:
Many are family-owned and operated; none have our mix of dedicated professionals and family hosts, guiding guests through the constellation of Napa landmarks and wine expressions in the same breath.
Many have vineyard views, even grand vistas of the Napa valley. None also safeguards – and intentionally grows – a sweeping vision of Napa wine and food that is so interlocked, elevated, yet still lively, down-to-earth, fun.
Many have “the best Napa wines” – terroir-expressive, from prime vineyards in select AVAs; none make the suggestion of a Napa Valley “first growth” as our wines do, crafted with our avante-garde blend of tradition and cutting edge technology for the most direct expression of Napa terroir.

Napa Cave Tour & Wine Tasting
Our flagship Napa cave tour and wine tasting strikes a pleasant balance between leisure and liveliness, the most artisanal wine and most carefully handcrafted seasonal delicacies.
From the moment you’re greeted at our door, you’ll have a glass of prime Davis Estate wine in your hand, and our dedicated host at your side to guide you through this exclusive adventure.
You’ll saunter down the gravel hillside and hear the story of our historic Calistoga estate – from the vines clutching the craggy mountain cliff sides, to our restored historic barn tasting lounge, to the spirit behind the estate – our vision – while entering our state-of-the-art winery; and then, the cool fog of intrigue in our 11,000 square feet of wine caves – and the wine secrets within –
Afterwards, you’ll settle inat your own private table on our panoramic terrace or another intimate section within our gorgeous tasting house.
Like old friends, we’ll pour our current release wines, and introduce our Executive Chef’s innovative, seasonal dishes paired to perfectly accentuate our wines, from our estate’s on-site artisanal kitchen – all with the feeling of being at once in an exciting, fine restaurant, while also warmly established at home, sharing a bottle among friends.

Cabernet Sauvignon AVA Exploration
They say that “Cab is King” in Napa – this tasting takes you to the heart of that deep history, to the heart of Napa itself, with four AVA Cabernet Sauvignons compared side-by side.
For true Cab connoisseurs, this experience begins with a private tour of our Calistoga AVA estate and wine caves, with the opportunity to closely connect to our wines from vineyard, to barrel, to bottle.
But the jewel of the experience is in the glass – a private tasting on our terrace patio or in our warm tasting room, where our dedicated host will take you through each Cab in detail, highlighting the unique terroir characteristics and dynamic profiles imparted by their different vineyard AVAs.
Our Executive Chef will then hold a light up to each wine with a bespoke, seasonal dishe that uniquely match and interact with each wine, highlighting unique aspects of each Cab like turning a gem to sparkle in the sunlight.

Collector’s Tasting
The Collector’s Tasting adds even more depth to our food and wine experience, offering guests both our current release wines and hand-selected library vintages – a point of departure into complete immersion in our historic estate.
Your estate tour, especially of our winery and wine caves, takes on a deeper significance as the careful process of aging our wines unfolds before you, and then is immediately present in the glass.
Our Zephyr Bordeaux-style blend and an AVA Cabernet offer prime examples of the beauty of the aging process of our wines. You’ll taste both the current vintage and an exclusive library selection of the same wine after years of measured maturation.
A multifaceted, handcrafted dish will tease out even more of the contrast in profile notes between the wines without overwhelming them. The current vintage will be like the sunrise behind the foreground of our locally-sourced dishes; and the aged selections like a beautiful sunset – both showcasing the same beauty, from angles and eras continuous yet completely unique.
This tasting concludes with a special taste of a Phase V Cabernet Sauvignon, an exclusive, premium allocation typically reserved for Founders members only.

This highest tier of our intimate food and wine experiences redefines a “VIP” experience in wine.
For serious Napa wine collectors and devoted wine enthusiasts, this full immersion in our estate begins with a behind-the-scenes, exclusive tour of our estate vineyards, winery, and wine caves.
This experience’s private tasting offers guests our most acclaimed reserve wines made by our estate winemaker Walter Leiva, as well as our exclusive Phase V wines crafted by the scion of Bordeaux’s – and now Napa’s – Philippe Melka.
Our Executive Chef takes pains to create an exceptionally beautiful pairing menu to match these elegant wines, which none of our other tastings can compare to.
